HAMILTON MARATHON ROAD2HOPE — NEWS AND UPDATES

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!

EARLY BIRD PRICING UNTIL MARCH 31, 2012

THANK-YOU

TO ALL OUR SPONSORS AND VOLUNTEERS

What would the Hamilton Marathon be with out our volunteers and sponsors?  Truly it would only be a
vision with no legs!  However thanks to our many sponsors, and countless volunteers we are able to put
legs on this vision!  The Hamilton Marathon has become a venue for countless charities to host a fun and
fabulous week-end of fun runs and extreme challenges.  Families come to participate in the 1k, 5k, and
10k, and teens as young as 13 come to run a full marathon, some even take on the challenge of
dribbling a basketball through the full marathon course as 17 year old Colin Hayens did this past
Sunday.  Did he do it for his own name sake, no he did it for his sisters and brothers that have been
adopted from Haiti.

So hats off to all the countless number of volunteers that have made this past week-end a
success, for the sponsors who stand behind us each year, for the support of the local community
and the reality of giving this vision legs, legs to run a race for ourselves and for
Citykidz & Joy & Hope of Haiti!  Thank-you!

" A 911 CALL MADE FOR CITYKIDZ AND HAITI KIDS....."

And all three chiefs responded!!!

On Saturday November 5th Police Chief Glenn DeCaire, Fire Chief Rob Simonds, and Paramedic
Chief Brent Browett
will be participating in the 5K run during the Road2Hope marathon, a fund raiser
for both City Kidz and the Joy and Hope of Haiti. Running with the chiefs will be Monica Raudles,
a City Kidz kid who is now a jr. leader at City Kidz
, volunteering her time back to the children of
her community and Matt and Maria Hayes are both in the midst of training for the 1/2 marathon,
be sure to come out on Sunday November 6th and cheer them on!! Colin Heyens, a 17 year

COURSES RE-CERTIFIED! (From waterfront trail right into finish shoot this year!)

Both the Half and Full Marathon courses will be re-certified this year making the Half Marathon a
qualifying course for the NYC Marathon. The finish at Confederation Park will not do the loop around
the waterpark, and will provide a nice clean finish that will turn from the Waterfront Trail and onto
the finishing chute.
